Asli was trained formally in both Landscape Architecture and Photography. After practicing Landscape Architecture for many years while taking portraits of people on the side, she decided to become a full time photographer in 2011 when she welcomed her first son. She immediately specialized in newborn and maternity portraiture and never looked back since then.
Her style has been described as “simple yet captivating”. She loves using props and simple accessories when photographing babies, but usually keeps these minimal to keep portraits timeless.
Asli is also a self-taught artist and she accepts commissions around globe regularly to create medium and large scale Public Art. Her recent public art commissions include a project for the city of Burlington, and at the time of writing she in the developmental stages of two international projects; a tile mosaic, and a mural for the cities of Berlin and Istanbul respectively.
She currently lives and works in Toronto, with her two amazing boys and husband.
